We are currently experiencing a high number of patients who are failing to attend for their appointment - particularly with our Nursing Staff. Please can we remind all patients that if they cannot attend a pre-booked appointment for any reason that we appreciate a phone call to let us know. This means we are able to re-allocate that appointment for another patient and therefore keeps our waiting times as short as possible for the benefit of all of our patients. Thank you.
From September 2018, the Surgery would like to use SMS text messaging to help communicate with our patients regarding their appointments. A consent form is available here - SMS Text Messaging Consent Form please complete and hand it to Reception.
Currently 46% of patients do not have a mobile number on their records... Do you have a mobile and would you like to be contacted by text? Please inform Reception. Thank you.

When the surgery is closed the telephone number, for emergencies only, for all patients seeking medical advice and attention is – 111
Medical care is provided by Care UK as contracted with NHS Suffolk. You may be asked to attend a medical centre elsewhere to receive medical attention. Please remember that this arrangement applies only to calls out-of-hours, so it would only be in these circumstances that you would see a doctor from a different practice. All non-urgent and routine medical care will be performed in the usual way with one of the doctors in the surgery, during surgery hours.
Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
Suffolk GP+ provides extra doctors appointments in the evenings, at weekends and Bank Holidays.
Clinics run from bases in Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds, Felixstowe, Haverhill, Stowmarket, Wickham Market, Colchester, Sudbury, Mildenhall and Newmarket.
You can make an appointment by contacting your registered GP practice and asking your receptionist about GP+.
You can also be referred via the NHS 111 telephone helpline, the ambulance service or by Ipswich and West Suffolk hospitals’ A&E departments.
Feedback from patients is overwhelmingly positive – with 98% saying they would recommend Suffolk GP+ to family or friends.
