MB BS DRCOG DFFP (Partner)
Joined the partnership in 1999. She initially trained at Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School and qualified in 1993. Since then she has gained experience in hospital posts and general practice, mainly in North East Essex and South West Suffolk.
She has attained the Diploma of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, the Diploma of the Faculty of Family Planning and the General Practice Summative Assessment Examination.
BSC (HON) MB BCHIR (CANTAB) DRCOG MRCGP (Partner)
Joined the partnership in January 2013. Originally from Peterborough, he first studied Forensic Science. He then went on to read Medicine at Cambridge, qualifying in 2005. He has worked in a variety of disciplines in both Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds. He has a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners.
Dr Piccaver is also a Liveryman of the Worshipful Society of Apothecaries and Freeman of the City of London. Dr Piccaver is passionate about holistic, compassionate care and has interests in patient education, palliative care and the care of older people.
Dr Williams joins us on Monday 20th May 2019.
Trained at St George's Hospital Medical School in London. Worked in the North of England for a number of years, moved back to Suffolk in 2014. Main areas of interest in general practice are Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) and palliative care. Dr Williams enjoys the variety and challenge of general practice.
Our Nurse Practitioner is able to assess, diagnose, treat and manage illness and disease. She can provide treatment and advice for many problems including ear, nose and throat, ear ache, gastric symptoms, chest pain/infections, gynaecological symptoms, abdominal symptoms, bowel/bladder symptoms, skin problems, sick children and much more. If medication is needed, a prescription can be issued as part of your consultation.

Our Nurses are available for pre-booked appointments and are happy to provide advice on lifestyle, blood pressure, cholesterol, diet, exercise, smoking etc. The practice also provides care for sufferers of asthma, diabetes, heart disease and high blood pressure. Our Nurses are available for dressings, removal of sutures, irrigation of ear wax, baby immunisations, foreign travel vaccinations, family planning advice and cervical smears, etc.

Our receptionists and secretary try to keep both doctors and patients happy; it can be a difficult job, so please be a patient patient! As well as meeting and greeting patients in person and on the telephone, they deal with many administrative roles. Please remember our receptionists are not clinically trained. Clinical questions will need to be referred to a doctor, nurse practitioner or nurse accordingly.
Our Pharmacists play a key role in providing quality healthcare. They are experts in medicines and will use their clinical expertise together with their practical knowledge to advise you on common problems. If you are taking several medicines our Pharmacist offers a detailed consultation called a Medicines Use Review (MUR). You can discuss the medication, when you should be taking it and any side affects you might be concerned about. MUR’s are done in a private consultation room and are free.
A team of midwives help look after our pregnant patients in Glemsford. They arrange antenatal classes, and also visit mothers and babies after delivery. The midwives arrange their own appointments, please be aware that Midwives are not employed by the Practice. If you need to contact the midwives, they are available 08:00am – 17:00 seven days a week on the following contact number: 01284 712851.
A team of district nurses based in Sudbury look after our patients who are housebound and need nursing care and those requiring post-operative wound care and regular dressings. Please contact the surgery who can liaise with the district nurses on your behalf, although please be aware that these staff are not employed by the Practice.
We have a team of dispensers trained to dispense the medicines you receive. They are also able to help you with any medication queries that you may have, please go to the dispensary where the staff will gladly be of assistance. All our staff have regular in-service training and attend courses to update and maintain their skills.
