COVID-19 VACCINATION

Due to the huge task of vaccinating so many people nationwide, the vaccine is going to be delivered in various ways, by mass vaccination hubs, smaller hubs and some GP Surgeries. We are working with 27 other practices and the Suffolk GP Federation to deliver the vaccination programme via a mass vaccination hub.  

When you are invited you will receive a text from NHS-Noreply or a letter with a unique booking code and web link. 

All Patients will be invited for their vaccine when they are eligible.  Please be patient, you will be contacted when you are eligible.

We understand your anxiety but would like to assure you that as soon as is possible, you will be contacted and invited for your vaccination.

Suffolk and North East Essex System have launched a Covid-19 Vaccine website which gives a range of information about the vaccination roll out, links to local networks and organisations and a detailed set of FAQs.  There is also information about the vaccination centres and sites across Suffolk and North East Essex with local case studies and sites, including maps highlighting their location.  SNEE NHS COVID-19 Vaccination Service (sneevaccine.org.uk)

IMPORTANT ADVICE FOR OUR PATIENTS AND CARERS

The most important symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are recent onset of any of the following:

  • a new continuous cough
  • a high temperature
  • a loss of, or change in, your normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia)

PLEASE DO NOT VISIT THE SURGERY IF YOU HAVE ANY OF THE SYMPTOMS ABOVE, STAY AT HOME AND ARRANGE TO HAVE A TEST ON WWW.GOV.UK.

For most people, COVID-19 will be a mild illness. However, if you have any of the symptoms above, stay at home and isolate for 10 days.  You should arrange to have a test - visit www.gov.uk.

Welcome to Glemsford Surgery

We welcome you to the website of Glemsford Surgery. Based in Glemsford in rural Suffolk, we pride ourselves on offering excellent care to the patients we serve. We have around 5080 patients at present, serving a wide and mainly rural area.

The Phlebotomy Department at West Suffolk Hospital will be open from 07:15-16:00 with effect from Monday 11th January until further notice.  No Saturday appointments will be available until further notice.  All patients should book an appointment for their blood test.

There are no changes to the opening times for Sudbury Community Health Centre.

Hartest Patients

The Glemsford Surgery will provide a weekly medication collection service in Hartest Institute in addition to the normal provision of medication delivery services.  

The Institute will be open on Wednesdays between 12pm and 1:30pm.  Should you wish to benefit from this service a consent form will be required.    

The practice dispensary will continue to provide a managed prescription service for repeats.
