Fond Farewell to Dr. Giblin

Glemsford Surgery is very sad to share that Dr. Mary Giblin is leaving us for pastures new.  Dr. Giblin will be very sadly missed and we know that our patients, friends, and carers will join us to wish her all the best in the future.  Dr. Giblin has been a Partner at Glemsford Surgery since 1999 and has worked tirelessly to provide excellent care over the years.  We thank her for her years of service to Glemsford and our neighbouring villages and wish her all the best for the future!

In line with national guidance, antibody testing (to see if you have had Coronavirus) will be rolled out in Suffolk and North East Essex in a safe and phased way.  It has begun with NHS hospital staff.  We will keep you updated as to when this test is available to different staff and patient groups.  Meanwhile, please may we request that you DO NOT ASK YOUR GP about availability.  This will help us to help you with all other urgent calls.  We will make an announcement as soon as we can.

From Monday 23rd March 2020, the Pharmacy will be CLOSED between 12pm and 2pm due to the Coronavirus outbreak.  This is so we can catch up due to unprecedented demand on our services.  Thank you.

IMPORTANT ADVICE FOR OUR PATIENTS AND CARERS

CORONAVIRUS (COVID_19)

Updated 19th March 2020 - for more information please click on the link below to visit our dedicated "Coronavirus Advice" page by clicking on the tab "Coronavirus"

The Public are advised to stay at home (self-isolate) without any testing for COVID-19, regardless of travel history or contact with confirmed cases, if they have:

A new continuous cough OR

High temperature of 37.8 degrees centigrade or higher

To reduce your chances of catching COVID-19

and reduce pressure on your local GP practice

during this busy time, appointments will be

carried out over the phone unless there is a

clinical need for you to come into the practice.

This will help minimise risk while continuing

to ensure people get the care and advice they

need.

ONLINE APPOINTMENT BOOKING

Please DO NOT book a GP appointment using the ONLINE SERVICES if you suspect you have contracted Coronavirus.  Please call NHS 111 instead.

Like the common cold, coronavirus infection usually occurs through close contact

Dear Patient,

patient surveyWe would like to know how we can improve our service to you and how you perceive our surgery and staff.

To help us with this, we are setting up a patient representation group so that you can have your say. We will ask the members of this representative group some questions from time to time, such as what you think about our opening times or the quality of the care or service you received.  We will meet face to face, probably 3 or 4 times per year.

For any patients who would like to be involved but cannot attend meetings, we will offer a virtual group.  This means we will contact you via email and keep our surveys succinct so it shouldn’t take too much of your time.

We aim to gather patients from as broad a spectrum as possible to get a truly representative sample. We need young people, workers, retirees, people with long term conditions and people from non-British ethnic groups.

If you are happy for us to contact you occasionally by email please click the link below to open the sign-up form and complete all the fields.
