Update: Travel health services
We have made some changes to our travel health services.

Practice Activity: June 2024
In June 2024, Glemsford surgery had the following appointment activity:
- 1122 Face to face Consultations
- 21 Home Visits
- 675 Telephone consultations
- 80 e-consultations
- 4 Video Consultations
Unfortunately we had 69 appointments where patients failed to attend, equal to 17 hours of clinician time that was lost.
Our clinical team also completed:
- 121 Referrals
- 1160 letters, received from secondary care and/or third party health organisations
- 33 Fit/Sick certificates
- 2136 prescription issues
Festive opening hours
Please see our opening hours over the festive period:
Monday 25th December - CLOSED
Tuesday 26th December - CLOSED
Wednesday 27th December - Friday 29th December - 08:00 until 18:30
Monday 1st January - CLOSED
Tuesday 2nd January onwards - 08:00 until 18:30
E-CONSULTS:
Please be mindful that e-Consults will not be reviewed in the same time frame over the bank holiday period. E-Consults submitted on the 22nd/23rd/24th will be reviewed on the 27th/28th/29th December. E-Consults submitted between the 25th December and the 2nd January will be reviewed on the 3rd/4th/5th January.
Prescriptions:
Please note there will be delays in processing prescriptions due to bank holiday closures. Please order your medication with enough time to allow for this. ALL medication requests need to be in writing, either via email: glemsford.dispensary@nhs.net , by using the repeat order slip on your prescription form & handing it into reception, or by completing the prescription order form from reception.
If you need medical attention while the surgery is closed, please call 111. If your symptoms are serious or life threatening please call 999.

Estates work
As of 17th July till start of October there will be building work taking place in the surgery. The surgery will run as normal but we apologise in advance for the noise and interuptions but we hope you will all benefit from the outcome of changes that are being made

Change in access to pharmacy
Due to Glemsford pharmacy being a seperate company, as of the 1st June, the option to select pharmacy when you call the surgery will be removed and be expected to call directly to 01787 322036
The reception can take medication queries related to Glemsford Surgery prescibers like the GPs but that is all. They will direct to most appropriate person. You may find econsult a useful method to ask these queries too

JOB VACANCY - PHARMACY COUNTER ASSISTANT
HOURS: Negotiable
Training will be given. Apply at the pharmacy counter (please note the pharmacy is a spearate entity to the surgery and application queries should be made directly to the pharmacy team).
Salary: In line with national living wage (see www.gov.uk/national-minimum-wage-rates)

If you are submitting an e-consult on Thursday 22nd or Friday 23rd December please be aware that due to the bank holidays we will be unble to meet the usual turnaround times. E-consult forms submitted on these dates may not be responded to until 28/29/30th December. Those submitted between Christmas and New Year will be responded to from 3rd Janaury onwards. For urgent issues over the holiday call 111.

Fire Drill
On 30th December 2022, Glemsford will be running a Fire drill for patients and staff in the building at 1pm. This is normal practice and just part of H&S standards to complete

Pharmacy Waiting Area
From Monday 7th November customers of the pharmacy are welcome to come inside the surgery to collect prescriptions. This will remain in place as long as infection control guidance permits. A queuing area has been created for pharmacy with seating where customers are not able to stand for long periods. A separate area is in place for GP patients awaiting appointments to ensure unwell patients have a place to wait.

18/10/2022 - The new Glemsford Surgery goes live!

Telephone Issues
11/10/2022: Unfortunately we continue to experience issues with our telephone system. The replacement scheduled for 15th September could not be fitted and we are awaiting a new installation date. Please inform the reception team if you are experiencing issues with our telephones. These details will be passed to the phone system provider for investigation.
