Using the new Anima system
What is Anima?
Anima allows our team to continue improving access times by helping us direct you to the most appropriate care. This ensures we use our resources in the safest and most efficient way. All appointment requests (via call or Anima) will be clinically triaged, and appointments are offered according to clinical urgency and need.
How do I access Anima?
Anima works in a similarly to the eConsult service, a point of access for appointments and health-related queries. The system allows you to submit a request for medical or administrative help without having to call the surgery.
You no longer need an Anima account to submit a request. Just use our website’s Anima link, fill in your details at the start, and we’ll match your request to your patient record. Simple, secure, and no login required

What are the opening times for Anima?
We aim to have Anima open 24/7, and occasionally it may be offline for updates.
If it does not seem to be working, please call the reception team who will try to help.
How soon will I hear back?
We aim to respond to queries within three working days (including offering appointments in advance, so please contact us early on the day you are available).
You can always check the status of your query via the Anima dashboard. We will respond to you in the first instance via your Anima account.
Why is the surgery not changing back to eConsult?
The eConsult contract came to an end at the end of December.
When visiting efficient and effective surgeries, it was decided to try a different way of booking appointments and introduce Anima at the same time.
Can I use Anima to request a repeat prescription?
You cannot use Anima to request prescriptions. Instead please use the NHS app, the surgery email or a paper repeat prescription to request your repeat prescriptions.
Is Anima an App?
Anima is not an app and is only accessible as a website. Anima are working on integrating this with the NHS App. We will update you when this takes place.
Can I contact Anima directly?
We encourage you to email Anima’s support team on support@animahealth.com if you have trouble using the website.
Anima support team are there to help with technical aspects of the website, but cannot help with booking appointments.
What happens if I can’t access Anima?
Patients that meet any of the below criteria can still call the surgery on 01787 280484, where one of our reception team can submit an Anima request for you.
· If you do not have access to the internet, or struggle using it
· If you have a language barrier
· If you have a disability
· If you are in mental health crisis
· If you are neurodivergent.
